Overview This programme will provide students with knowledge and skills related to beauty therapy services that will align with the requirements and expectations of New Zealand and international beauty therapy industries.
Content Graduates will be able to:
- Consult with clients and identify their beauty requirements
- Provide competent professional beauty therapy services in a variety of
settings
- Undertake facial and body treatments
- Undertake manicures and pedicures
- Provide skin care and make-up treatments
- Maintain health and safety in the salon.

Admission Information Students must be 16 years of age or older at the time of enrolment, unless approved by the Programme Leader. Evidence of suitability based on interview and/or portfolio.
All certificate programme entry criteria apply. In addition, students must hold the required prerequisite modules or be able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge and skills.
Applicants for whom English is not their first language require a minimum IELTS score of 5.5.
Qualification Gained:
Northland Polytechnic Certificate in Beauty Therapy (Level 5) and City and Guilds Advanced Diploma in Beauty Therapy (on application to City and Guilds)
