Office Communication Server
Imagine having live meetings with people from all over the world and being able to see them, hear them and share applications with them from your own office or home.
- Students can listen to, watch, and take part in lectures no matter where they are.
- Staff can deliver lectures from anywhere.
- Students can collaborate on projects from different locations.
- Lecturers and students can communicate with each other for information or tutorials – by instant messaging, e-mail and video and audio conferencing. Even if students don’t have broadband or a web-cam, they can still make use of the services.
- Staff and students can work on documents together from different locations, can share information and even manipulate each other’s documents on screen.
- Through the use of Smartboard used in conjunction with OCS, all participants can see what the on-site class can see on the board.
If you have been granted access to use OCS within NorthTec, you can download the Communicator 2007 Client and/or Live Meeting 2007 Client from the links below for free.
NB: The Outlook Addin requires MS Office 2002 or later, and is not required to use Communicator or Live Meeting. It's the best way to schedule meetings / conferences; however this can also be done from Communicator / Live Meeting applications.
