Founded in 1978, NorthTec (Northland Polytechnic) is a government funded
tertiary institution, specialising in applied, technical and vocational
education. NorthTec offers over 90 qualifications, from university-standard
degrees to diplomas, certificates, foundation courses, and English
Language programmes.

National and international qualifications
NorthTec programmes are highly regarded by New Zealand employers. All
are approved by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA), and
many are internationally recognised.

NorthTec degrees are accredited to allow access to postgraduate studies at
most universities around the world, and NorthTec programmes pathway to
selected degrees at Massey University, Auckland University of Technology,
the University of Waikato and Victoria University of Wellington.
