Steps in application and enrolment for International Students ...



 

Immigration Information

Full details of visa and permit requirements, advice on rights to employment in New Zealand while studying, and reporting requirements are available through Immigration New Zealand and can be viewed on their website.

 

Step 1 - Application

Download the  information for international applications. Read the International Student Cancellation and Refund Policy. Refer to the International Qualification Equivalency chart to check entry requirements to our programmes.


Complete the  International Application Form and post, fax or email it with officially verified supporting documents, to:

Step 2 – Acceptance and Offer of Place  

We will let you know the outcome of your application. If your application is accepted, you will receive:

 

  • a letter of acceptance
  • an offer of place
  • a schedule of payment (which will include tuition fees and other services such as medical and travel insurance if required)

Step 3 – Fee Payment 
Pay the fees and send us an acceptance confirmation. Once we receive the fees in our account, we will provide an official receipt.


Step 4 – Student Visa Application
Apply for your student visa at Immigration New Zealand (INZ)
Refer to the INZ website, www.immigration.govt.nz, to find the branch nearest to you.

Step 5 – Preparation to Travel to New Zealand 
Make your travel arrangements to Whangarei. Advise the International Office of your flight details, arrival date and time.

Step 6 – Arrival, Enrolment, and Orientation  

Upon arrival for your first day of classes, come in to the NorthTec International Office to complete your enrolment.


English Language students: Come in at 8.30 on the Monday of your first class.

 

All other International Students: Attend the International Student Orientation before the Semester commencement (further information will be sent to you about this Orientation).
